ARK-ZERO-NINE

ArkZeroNine cover by Gareth Clegg

It’s #FogboundFriday again.

Main news today is I’ve produced an initial design idea for the ArkZeroNine cover.

I’m liking it a lot and am trying to speak with the artist about licensing the image, I’ll let you know how that goes when I manage to make contact.

For those of you who don’t know anything about ArkZeroNine, It’s my next novel now that I’m waiting for the edit of Fogbound which is due to start on 10th Oct.

Take a look on the books page in the main menu for a very brief synopsis. It’s been quite an interesting experience going back to it, as I wrote the first 17,000 words before I started Fogbound, so it’s almost a year since I last looked at A09 and I’d forgotten how far I’d got with the initial story and how much I love the characters.

I’ve spent the last week reading through and doing an initial edit on the 6 chapters that are written. Next week – all speed ahead with more writing.

Take a look at the cover and let me know what you think…

— IN OTHER NEWS —

There’s been a little more progress on the Fogbound RPG

I got hold of the Affinity Publisher Beta and what better way to put it through its paces than by using it to lay out the RPG?

What can I say? I love all the Affinity products and am a proud owner of Affinity Photo and Designer. And from what I’ve seen so far of Publisher, I’ll definitely have that on my purchase list when it’s released as well.

As it’s a Beta, there are several issues to be expected as the devs work through all the items the Beta testers reveal, but it’s a cool piece of software, and to a certain degree, I’m glad the RPG project was put back while I focussed on completing Fogbound the novel.

I am also in contact with an excellent artist with regards to organising how to get the quality of artwork I want into the book and we will be discussing ideas of the next week or so. It still looks very likely that it will be a Kickstarter based project so I’m going to be relying on some friends who have gone through the process several times before with successful Kickstarter campaigns. So, I’m not sure yet on the timeframe for when it will hit Kickstarter, but with the news that a new version of Savage Worlds is due to be Kickstarted in mid October, I will need to wait until that’s done to ensure we are publishing Fogbound ready to work with SW2 off the bat.

OK, that’s all for now, so until next time, Be Splendid to one another.
